Review: The
Mummy: Evelyn (Rachel Weisz), an Egyptologist with a well earned
reputation for chaos and mayhem, recruit Rick O'Connell (Brendan
Fraser), a down and out, retired foreign legion officer, to guide her
to a lost city in search of a great archaeological find. Int he process
they unleash a mummy of incredible power and have to face off against
him to save the world from his power. A very fun movie to watch, and
well worth the time and money, the mummy and his cohorts are scary, but
not overly gross, and the action is non stop and unflinching, while the
humor just keeps flowing along with the action and adventure. Littles
might have a problem with the monsters, but the rest of the family
should have no problem with the rest.
The Mummy Returns: Yep, the Mummy is back and O'Connell and Evelyn, now
married with a small boy, who has the same sense of adventure as his
father and talent for mayhem as his mother, must face off against him
when he kidnaps Alex, played by Freddie Boath. Fun and adventure abound
in this one as much as the first, so grab a bowl of corn and enjoy.
The Scorpion King: The Rock revises his role in The Mummy Returns here,
and does a mediocre job of it. The script was a cookie cutter barbarian
revenge movie, and the direction seemed a bit like the director was
bored with it before it started. The kids like the Rock so they will
enjoy it, but i was bored at times, and the other times i was only
mildly interested.
