Review: A wild exploration this one definatley is. Depp is at his quirkiest and Burton at his most creative. Between the two they create a spectacle of color and oddity in this retelling of the classic story of Willy Wonka and his Chocolate Factory. Not exactly a remake of the movie, but a reinterpetation of the story. Much of the movie has the same content, one good boy in a group of bad kids with ultieror motives and attitudes enough for all, to new content and effects. Much more flamboyant than Gene Wilder, Jonny Depp adds a bit of wild innocence to the part, but also a bit of weirdness that we have come to expect from Depp. Throw in Burton's unique vision, and this is a spectacle of the senses. A fine one for kids of almost all ages since there is enough to keep the young'ns occupied, and enough for those with kids in us still to enjoy.
