Review: Not
quite as good as
the book was, but then the book wasn't spectacular, but it is a good
rendition. The film is filled with action and not a little science
fiction, as well as some interesting acting, but it's doomed by the
material it has to present in such a small window of time. I think the
screen writer did an admirable job in interpreting the book for the big
screen. Many disliked the movie in it's entirety, but i liked the book
as a bit of entertainment, so my opinion is a bit skewed, i think it
wasn't on par with what it could have been if it were presented in two
or three parts, but it id a respectable job forcing the necessary
events into the two hours it had to use. It has some scary aliens, but
they are not to bad, but the battle scenes and violence might scare the
littles, but the kids ten and up will not have a problem at all.
this is definitely a rent before you buy movie.
