Aeon Flux

Review: Not bad, a
bit out
there, but enjoyable and interesting. The premise is that humanity's
wanton pursuit of industrialization caused a world wide plague, wiping
out most of humanity, and leaving the women infertile. The last city of
humans exists in a totalitarian state that monitors almost everything,
and it's ruler has a devastating secret that will topple either his
rule, or the opposition, or both. The action is great, and the
effects well done. I think the whole experience was a good one
and
mostly believable, from the politics to the science, it's all
relatively plausible, but still science fiction. . <Continued>

The twists in the
story are interesting and lead you along pretty well into a nice
mystery surrounded by the intrigue and espionage. Not nearly as twisted
as the cartoon was, it's a bit more involving, but not as fantastic
Little kid's won't be particularly entertained except maybe by the
fight scenes, the rest should have a bit of fun with the
action and
stunts and the story it's self. The sex is nearly non existent, more
leaning toward heavy kissing, and the violence is virtually bloodless,
except a couple wounds that aren't life threatening, though the body
count climbs pretty swiftly.
Plot: In the 25th century humanity makes it's
last stand in the last city on
Earth. Inside it's walls, the government is ruling with a
fist of steel, and people vanish without a sign. A small rebellious
group seeks to topple the government by assigning Aeon
(Charlize
Theron) to a top secret mission. Based on the cult classic MTV aired
cartoon of the 1990's.
