of Narnia

Rating Content: Adventure,

Review: Rightly
anticipated, this version of the classic novel is a wonderful visual
experience. Though much of the detail in this story are lost in the
translation, such is the fate of so many great novels these days, it
still holds a bucket full of magic and wonder. I myself never read the
books, so i rely on my kids to tell me how true it is, and they were
quite satisfied with the movie, and are now looking eagerly forward to
another chapter of the story, even though we have yet to know if a
sequel is being considered. However, with the popularity of
this well done story, i think it quite likely to see another in the
future. <Continued>

The animation of the animals was good, but still aren't quite perfect,
though I attribute this to an attempt to make them seem a little more
human. The scenery is magnificent in almost every way and it simply
adds to the wonder of this film.
This film opens with the Nazi bombing of London during World War II,
and then the mass evacuation of children to the countryside to escape
the destruction, so i strongly encourage parents of kids to discuss
this particular aspect of WWII before going. I heard many of the kids
in the theater asking about this part of the film, and know it could be
quite disconcerting to the younger kids when they learn that kids were
being relocated if they do not understand what is happening and why.
Plot: Sent
to the countryside during World War II, four children stumble upon a
wardrobe in the old mansion they are residing in. Not just Any
wardrobe, this one takes them to a world of fantasy and adventure, one
where they are destined to become saviors to the peoples in a classic
raging battle between good and evil. C.S Lewis' classic tale is brought
to the big screen for a new generation to enjoy.
